The Berean Study Group (BSG) is an interdenominational bible study group that was established in 2007, by a group of ministers who desired to study together informally as a small group. The Berean study group is framed around the Bereans in the book of Acts.
In the Book of Acts 17:11, the Bereans were people who were eager to hear what Paul and Silas taught. They received the word with all readiness and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether the things heard were true. The zeal of the Bereans impacted many societies.
BSG meets bimonthly face to face or virtually usually the 3rd Friday of the month. The group meetings virtually are on Zoom.
We come together to read books and see movies about the books that we read. We love it! We learn from other’s experiences. We travel to retreats, conferences, and on field trips to learn and grow.
Would you like to start a study group?
In 2009, a group met in a kitchen. They desired to meet together to learn and grow by studying the scriptures. We began picking a book in the bible and reading it together. We followed this with reading books, such as the Daily Life series by Max Lucado. We have traveled across the country attending retreats. This fall marks our twelfth year together. We get asked, how have you been able to maintain such strong bonds, over a decade, by studying? The answer is, we had ground rules. We did not debate differences in doctrine and we were committed in covenant relationships.
